You can visit both these reserves from town of Santa Elena. We visited the Santa Elena Reserve. |

The reserve is rainforest, but to us really not that impressive. The highlight was that we did get to see the elusive Quetzal bird. We did enjoy the Sky Walk (a series of walkways built up in the canopy of the trees) as it gives you a different perspective on things, but this was located outside of the reserve and costs extra. |

If this is one of your only chances to visit rainforest, go for it. The trails are nice and there are some animals. However, if you are headed to Ecuador or other places in South America where you can visit the Amazon, we would recommend that you save your time & money for that. |
