Monterico

Monterico is a beautiful beach on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala.

We stayed at a hotel right on the beach which even had a nice pool to use when you were tired of sand and salt. There are a number of nice (though a bit expensive) restaurants along the beach. There are cheaper local restaurants in town and a small store that sells lots of produce.

There is also a reserve located here and one evening we watched the baby turtles "race" to the sea.

Every evening we enjoyed the sunset from Johnny's. Is there ever a bad sunset when you're relaxing with a cold beer after a day of sun & surf? We don't think so.

Spent our evenings hanging out and playing cards with friends.

We spent Christmas here with
Jenny and Heather , friends from our Spanish School in Xela.
