Quetzaltenengo (AKA Xela)

This is where we began language school. We really enjoyed the surrounding countryside and the city itself. A great place to visit but a bit cold for a December Holiday.

Xela is the second largest city in Guatemala. It's located at an elevation of over 7500 feet (nearly 2400 meters) which makes it quite cold in winter. Our pipes even froze!

Our favorite coffee shop. Great breakfast, lattes or mochas... all freshly roasted right there each day.

Central Park
A beautiful park surrounded by colonial buildings, one of which was our language school.
