On the recommendation of a friend we headed to a hospedaje in Charco Verde for some more relaxation. |

It was a beautiful place right on the water, facing west for great sunsets. At night we could hear howler monkeys in the forest just behind the house and knew we were in a place that has not been destroyed by progress...something very unique in this world of ours. |

There was also nice hiking and swimming.
Charco Verde was the perfect ending to our unexpectedly wonderful experience in Ometepe. We hope for this island a wonderful future in which the people continue to protect their land and control the speed of the inevitable progress to come. |
