The next two photos are of Frigate birds. They are a bit out of focus, but their res pouches are quit evident. These red pouches on the necks of the males are used for breeding purposes. |
The red pouch of the frigate is inflated during mating season. Yes, it was mating season. |
When trying to locate the Frigates on land, all you need to do is look for "red", and there they were. |
