The Petroglyphs of Ometepe |
Scattered all over Ometepe are stones carved into figures or carved with pictures. These petroglyphs were made by the Chorotega people long ago. |
There are thousands of petroglyphs all over the island, more are discovered daily. |
Some have been gathered in Altagracia in the garden in front of the church. There is also a museum in Altagracia with others, but most are found in the middle of peoples fields or at local watering holes. |
