Moyogalpa & Santa Domingo Beach

Moyogalpa is the town where ferries from San Jorge arrive. We spent the night here and left the next day as the cheap hotels aren't that great and there's not much to do.

The Western half of Ometepe was created by Volcan Concepcion. It is 1610 meters high, still active and quite impressive to see.

Volcan Concepcion

We headed to Santo Domingo Beach which is a great place to relax and have fun swimming in the waves. It felt just like the ocean. In fact it's so convincing that while we were swimming the fact that it wasn't salty constantly surprised us.

"Ocean" waves.

Sand along the shore just added to the ocean feel.

This very friendly monkey lived at the hotel next door.

Next we headed to La Finca Magdalena to work on their coffee farm.
